Fitted or Draped Printed Tablecloth for a Malaysian Event Booth?
Choose a fitted or draped printed tablecloth by measuring the event table, planning the front drop and storage access, and comparing the complete quote.
The short answer: choose a fitted printed cover if your booth will use the same measured table model and you want controlled corners. Choose a draped cloth if you need more tolerance for different tables or want to set the front, side and back drops separately. Measure the actual table before ordering either one; “six-foot table” is not a complete production specification.
This is different from choosing a full-size event backdrop behind the booth. Malaysian printer Printlab lists fitted, draped and stretch tablecloth styles, custom dimensions and optional back slits. Gogoprint’s tension-fabric table cover is a separate product designed around a specified table system, with cover-only and table-inclusive options. These listings show why style names and package contents need checking; they do not establish a universal size or a BajuPrintz supplier capability.
Start with the venue table, not a catalogue label
Ask the organiser or venue for the exact table model and measure its top length, depth and height. Take a front and side photo, noting any rounded corners, braces, cables or shelving. Decide how far the cloth should hang at the front, both sides and back. Keep an intentional clearance from the floor so the fabric does not bunch where staff or visitors walk.
For a loose rectangular cloth, the flat coverage depends on the tabletop plus the drop on each opposite edge; hems and sewing allowances come from the printer’s pattern. A fitted cover may need separate top, front and side panels instead. Give the measurements and desired drops to the selected supplier and request its template—do not send a home-calculated flat size as the final production file. Printlab’s tablecloth order page asks for the table’s length, width and height and provides a measurement guide.
Compare the two ways the booth will work
| Buyer check | Fitted cover | Draped cloth |
|---|---|---|
| Table changes between venues | Confirm fit against each table model | Check how the drop changes on each table |
| Front branding | Ask where the front panel and corner seams land | Proof logo placement after the cloth hangs and folds |
| Stock under the table | Specify an open back or access slit if needed | Choose a back drop staff can lift without disturbing the front |
| Transport and reuse | Keep the cover’s table measurements with the file | Check folding, creasing and the next venue’s table dimensions |
Fitted does not always mean stretch or tension fabric. Printlab shows several cloth styles, while Gogoprint’s fabric table-cover page specifies one tension-cover-and-table system. If you already own a table, give its dimensions and ask whether the proposed cover is compatible; a cover-only price is not proof that it will fit any table.
Proof what visitors will actually see
Place the important logo or message on the visible front area, not where display items, hands, folds or corner seams will hide it. Ask for an assembled mockup or sample on a table of the same dimensions, viewed from the aisle. A screen proof of a flat fabric rectangle cannot show the final drop. Use the printer’s template for panel boundaries and the artwork-file guide for general file handoff.
Confirm the exact fabric, print and care instructions from the selected supplier. Printlab’s current custom tablecloth listing describes a satin-fabric sublimation option, while Gogoprint specifies polyester tension fabric for its product. These are different constructions; neither label alone predicts how a finished cover will look or wash. Ask for a swatch if sheen, drape or lighting matters at the booth.
Compare complete delivered quotes
Send the same brief to each printer: table dimensions and photos, quantity per design, fitted or draped construction, drops, open-back requirement, fabric and finish, visible front artwork, proof type, venue postcode and date the cover must be in hand. Ask whether the table, carry bag, delivery and any setup are included. If the venue supplies the table, confirm who will put the cloth on it before visitors arrive.
You can request a BajuPrintz quote with that measured brief and check which tablecloth styles the responding printers actually offer.
Frequently asked questions
Will a tablecloth labelled six feet fit any event table?
No. Confirm the venue table's actual top length, depth and height, then compare those measurements with the supplier's finished cover dimensions and allowed drop.
When is a fitted cover better than a draped cloth?
A fitted cover is useful when you will use the same measured table model and want controlled corners. A draped cloth is more forgiving when table sizes vary, but its drop and front artwork still need checking.
Can staff reach stock stored under a fitted tablecloth?
Only if the chosen construction allows it. Ask for an open back, slit or other access detail and check its position on the assembled sample before ordering.
Does a printed table-cover quote include the table?
Do not assume so. Suppliers may quote a printed cloth alone or a cover with a compatible table; ask for each component, delivery and setup to be itemised.
